(Ruben James Ciriacks' conjecture:  From the perspective of placing oneself in the first century, immediately after the birth of Christianity, a personal meaning would lean toward a humanistic "dedicated to" interpretation.  On the other hand, observers of the nascent Christian organization might have considered those dedicated adherents to be "slaves" to the new religion - meaning that the term kyriake could have become more popular because it satisfied the mindset of various disparate individuals of the time.

10-22-2008:  The Assyrian International News Agency reports in an article entitled, Kurdish Forces Confiscating Ration Cards, Weapons From Assyrians in North Iraq, from Mosul, Iraq that:

Rumors started circulating in Dohuk that the Assyrians in Mosul would face a massacre on October 9. People were encouraged to inform their relatives to leave the city. One of the priests who ordered his parishioners to urge their relatives to leave Mosul is Father Quryaqos, from the village of Shioz, just outside the city of Dohuk. Father Quryaqos said he was instructed by Mr. Jamel Zeyto, the leader of PCCSA, to say they were warned to leave Mosul by their relatives.

The Syriac Orthodox Church site references a monastery of Mor Quryaqos.
