CYR may or may not be connected to the Cyriac family genealogy.  It depends upon how the name, alternatively spelled as "Sire" and "Syre" originated.  If it came from the name of a Saint Cyr, then it could be related to Cyriacus.  At a population of 15,000 in the 1990 census, it surpasses all the others, including Ciriaco, as the predominant form of a surname possibly connected to the original Cyriac spelling.
We have yet to delve into the controversy surrounding the histories of the various Saints Cyr, Cyriaca and Cyriacus (and their alternative spellings) which may or may not have become legendary coincident with the crusades of the middle (or dark) ages.

This is a typo (the correct Cyriacks spelling and incorrect (for this branch of the family) Cyriaks spellings are also contained within the narrative) associated with a posting regarding the long demolished Fred R. Cyriacks 10 room "mansion" located at Toluca Lake & North Hollywood which was published by the The Museum of the San Fernando Valley.
