Claus Hinrich Cyriacks, Paterfamilias of the Ciriacks surnamed, branch of the Bremen descented family came to the USA 1867.  As had many of his cousins before him, Hinrich stayed in New York City and visited other places before settling in Jackson.

Hinrich's farm was located on Pleasant Valley Road in the town of Jackson, Wisconsin.  It's now owned by non-family members and is well maintained.  Hinrich came to Wisconsin around 1870, when our population was 1,054,670.  It's now over 5 million, but had his countrymen of the time been as prolific as he, it would be over 50 million!


Various spellings of Hinrich's surname have been found. 


The ultimate variation of our Wisconsin based 'misspelled' surname is easier to understand by looking at the trunk associated with Hinrich's younger brother - our mysterious missing Uncle Hermann:
